On Thursday, President Petr Pavel signed, among other things, an amendment to the employment and social security measures for Ukrainians.
The law, known as Lex Ukraine will become effective on 01.04.2023.
We consider the most important change to be the newly introduced reporting obligation with respect to all employment agreements of Ukrainian refugees, regardless of whether the agreement gives rise to participation in sickness insurance or not. In practice, this means that, for Ukrainian citizens employed under temporary protection status, it is now necessary to report also agreements to complete a job where the earnings do not reach CZK 10 000.00. This obligation also applies retroactively. For more information on the deadlines and conditions of this new obligation, see the Czech Social Security Administration’s website.
