As part of fairer pensions, every woman who has raised a child should have a higher pension by five hundred crowns as of 2023.
The Chamber of Deputies has approved "educational allowance". As part of fairer pensions, every woman who has raised a child should have a higher pension by five hundred crowns as of 2023. The maximum pension can be increased by 1.500 CZK, - i.e. for three offsprings. But even men who raised children don't come up short. This will apply, but only to men who have children born after 1996. The parent who took care of the child for longer will receive the education. If the child's mother and father fail to agree on which parent will receive child support, the Social Security Administration will decide.
For example, people will probably have to apply for educational allowance when applying for a pension. It will also be granted to people who are already retired. This measure is partly intended to reduce the pension gap between men and women.
What else is there to change as part of the pension reform?
- Unification of the retirement age for men and women to 65.
- Reduction of the insurance period from 35 years to 25 years, i.e. the number of years a person has to work for the recognition of a pension. With this measure, more people should reach pensions. In fact, 5-6 thousand claimants are refused a pension each year.
- Minimum pension threshold of 10 000 CZK.
- Lowering the retirement age for demanding professions such as welders, general nurses, etc.
